Awkward is an immersive performance dinner in which the audience explores social interactions through a sensory exploration of food.
Awkward is a colourful sculpture with real food that people will explore via in- ear instructions. The audience is invited to reach into the abundance: choose with their senses and find a deep connection with the food on our table and the people next to us.
Awkward is also about “how” we enjoy or consume food. About how it can be difficult or embarrassing to show up for convivial moments in our community. How both our food and our relationship are connected to our mental health.
The performance ends with in communal dinner that will last until one wishes to linger. The main dishes are vegan and glutin free, we will ask for specific allergies upon arrival.
Metaphorically, the table represents our resources. As we all sit at the same table, even our seats reveal our comfort or lack of. Will we be able to sit at The Same Table and make sure all can partake to the same abundance? That is for you to choose.
